Smile Jdm spec c tmic v5 v6 v7

Greetings fellow WRX enthusiasts..

For my VERY first post id like to say im very happy to be on board and the information on this website has helped me greatly... thank you..

I own a 98 V5 sti 2 door. Australian delivered. 30k on the clock.
Current mods are an Apexi power fc, Turbo back exhaust, resonectomy, braille battery, 2 pot rear conversion and whiteline suspension + swaybars,
Vinne STI docklands conservative tune 17psi---170kw ATW.
I recently ran my car at Calder... Best time 12.985 @ 106mph

heres a video of my first run...

FullBOOST - The best videos online!

im near the end of he video..(at 2.29min)

I am planning a lot of upgrades but i want to max out the hp of the car with the stock gearbox and motor and turbo...VF28

Ive been looking at intercoolers and I wonder if anyone could help me find a
JDM GBD SPEC C V7 V8 or V9 TMIC

I have tried to email a lot of JDM parts Specialists but they either dont know about these spec C TMIC OR they try to order the GR spec C TMIC.
They all ask for Vin numbers and make model of car..
HOW WOULD I KNOW THE CAR NEVER CAME OUT IN AUSTRALIA..!!??

So can anyone help me find THIS INTERCOOLER or point me in the direction of a JDM importer who knows what im talking about...??

I have found a link for a spec C TMIC but it looks like an 05 year GBD TMIC early design twin tanks..im after the improved V9 GBD SPEC C TMIC

http://www.aqmotorsports.com/spec-in...er-p-1521.html

thanks in advance....

Oh and im open to any performance suggestions...

regards pk

Go the V10+ GR one, its bigger, has all the features of the Spec C TMIC and doesn't come with the "Spec-C" price tag or the big gay STI stencil. Little bit of work involved to make it fit but you have to mess around anyway with the V7-9 ones

Default Jdm spec c tmic v5 v6 v7

Thanks guys for all the good tips...

Ive sent Kris a pm about the intercooler...
The V10 TMIC also sounds good.

I know from reading on the forums that both will fit the gc8 BUT will i still be able to run the carbon fibre/titanium OEM strut bar as well?
Anyone done this retrofit?

regards pk

I imagine you won't be able to fit the strut tower brace in the traditional configuration, you will probably be able to run it backwards but that looks stupid

Backwards the strut brace may cross the intercooler core and the rubber boot. The normal V7 STI one is a decent amount bigger then a normal V5-V6, be close to 40% bigger I would say.

Just get a Cusco one and get some money back by off loading your STi one.

Or Process West, at least they're a straight bolt on, probably don't flow as well as an STI one though.

i've fitted a v7 to a gc8 and a whiteline strut brace still fit perfectly (the type that runs along the firewall)
