Finally got around to introducing myself

Hi Perth WRX Members,

My name is Robert. Been a wrx owner since first obtaining my license back in 2009.

This was my first WRX and I instantly fell in love with Subarus after driving my GC8 for the first time. It was an MY00 model with the cream leather interior. I kept it stock apart from a few cosmetic changes and a sound system.

After enjoying my GC8 for almost 2 years, i finally decided to sell it and buy my favourite out of all the WRX models, the Pig :) I decided to go for the CS9 as the black leather interior, sunroof and Sti front lip already had me sold.

This is what my CS9 currently looks like:

It is currently stock with only the CS9 rims being powdercoated satin black and having a sound system. At the moment I dont get my license back till May 2013 :( so stage 1 mods will have wait closer to that date, no point putting money into it now if i cant drive it. I think im just going to do some cosmetic upgrades until then.

Let me know what you guys/girls think..

Thanks.

nice looking cars welcome

Sethi3 25-07-2012 01:51 PM

I'm not a fan of ping nosed WRXes but damn yours look good!

kid 25-07-2012 01:52 PM

What did you do to lose your license for a year?

TROLLEY 25-07-2012 01:59 PM

The rims look great powder-coated.

As per kid's enquiry - wtf, a year?

rob1992 25-07-2012 02:16 PM

Thanks guys.

Funny story to how i lost my license actually.. Left my sister's engagement party and regretably decided to drink-drive for the first time. Got caught and got 6 months. 3 months in and was still driving during the day due to work commitments. Day i got a promotion from Western power got pulled over by the cops, car impounded and extra 9 months. Still had couple speeding fines from before i got done DUI and that put me over the 12 demerit point limit and got an extra 3 months on top. Just an unlucky run. Suppose the upside is i can save more money for mods and keep the kms low on my pig :)

Your team leader must have loved you
I see you work for WP (or might have), my condolences ;)

Welcome to the mad house and the car looks very clean!

Welcome!

Welcome, but in all seriousness thats not "an unlucky run" - hopefully you have wised up a bit and pulled your head in.

Car looks great (for a pignose :p) - hard to beat a clean black car.....

Thanks Soksta, i take pride and joy in my subie :) and yes i DID work for WP haha. Had to tell them i no longer had my license after my car got impounded, seeing as i could no longer get to work and back. WP, no license=no job. Im now working with my uncle doing metal fabrication in malaga. Comes in handy though :)

Well IMO it was "an unlucky run" considering i wasnt speeding BOTH times i got pulled over, must be something against my black pig.
Must admit it is quite an effort to keep black clean but its worth it in the end :)

REXXXED 25-07-2012 03:04 PM

It's not unlucky as you shouldn't have been driving in the first place...

And i have no doubt that being that the car is registered in your name, a quick scan of your plates would tell the Po-Po that the registered owner currently has no licence, hence them pulling it over on the off chance it is you driving...

Ps: Welcome, nice car, me likey black on black!

steve-lang 25-07-2012 04:34 PM

Welcome mate if you want me to track your car or take it on some cruises just give me a PM

STiV6 25-07-2012 05:06 PM

Very clean and gotta love the black on black.
My gc8 is rocking the black on black also.

ImPreSiV 25-07-2012 05:18 PM

Welcome. Nice car.

Everyone makes mistakes. As long as you learn from them.

TROLLEY 25-07-2012 10:02 PM
Everyone makes mistakes. As long as you learn from them.
It wasn't a mistake Kym, it was plain bad luck!

teejay 25-07-2012 10:23 PM

The only bad luck was that information did not transfer from police officers/court to rob1992's brain.

RUSSGT 26-07-2012 08:35 AM

Whats the shop you do metal fab? What sort of things do you make?

rob1992 26-07-2012 08:39 PM

Thanks for the welcome guys. Im liking the black on black too. Gonna go with a red engine bay theme to match the red brake calipers too.
Whats the shop you do metal fab? What sort of things do you make?
Its called Rolsteel Enterprises on truganina rd, next factory over from japline in malaga. We specialise in ballustrading, truck-bodybuilding, toolboxes and anything in between. If anyone is interested in something being made up just let me know and ill see what i can do :)

ClubSpecTyler 08-11-2015 11:40 PM

Small world I guess...

God knows if anyone will see this 4 year old thread but....
Im 16 and Iv recently brought this car from Osborn Park
Subaru. Couldn't believe it when I saw this car on google images with same number plates and everything. This has been like a glimpse into the past. And just so you know, the car has not changed much at all over the nearly 4 years since this post was made.

Cheers,
Tyler

Insome 09-11-2015 09:14 AM

Probably because it probably hasn't been driven much over the last 4 years given the OP's continual "bad luck"

JRecardo 09-11-2015 09:37 AM

Start a new thread and post some pics! All the old pictures in the OP seem to be dead for me.

Yeah i did a revs check on it and you're completely right, has hardly been driven over the last 4 years.

I will get some good photos and start a new thread. Some advice on beginner mods i can do will be great so a thread will be perfect :)
