Noticed afew members painting their headlight internals black, look's sick, so i did it.

pics. (taken of a gopro hero3 black)

Next on the list is lower it. Looking at some pedders springs as i feel kings are some what cheap? Anyone had anything to do with pedders springs. The guy i spoke to at midland claimed it would drop about 40mm all round. Are their any springs that lower the front more than the rear to even out the guard/tyre gaps? Are their any negatives to running a lower front end?

LOL if Kings are cheap and nasty I'd like to know what Pedders could be labeled as.

Perhaps look at Eibach, or better yet ring Wheels World, Wilkinson, WA Suspension and see what they recommend. Then do reading/research to make your final decision.

Yeh Eibach are the top of the hit list under Pedders. However the only real reason i am leaning towards the pedders is because they are nice and close to pick up

I dont really want to lower it 40mm as i dont really feel like flogging out some perfectly good struts.

These are the two im looking at now
Tein S. Tech Spring Kit Subaru WRX 2004-2007 / STI 2004 at RallySportDirect.com

Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs Subaru Impreza / WRX Sedan 2004-2007 at RallySportDirect.com

The spring rates for the Tein S spring is quite alot firmer than the Eibach's. But i prefer the Eibach's as they dont drop it so far. Im guessing they are firmer to stop the strut from bottoming as their isnt much stroke left? Going the research the stock spring rates then compare from their i guess.

Something else to look at is progressive vs. linear spring rates.
As for "raking" the front, I did it when I had coilovers and the only concerns were curbs, speed bumps and parking forwards (I always reverse in so this wasn't a problem).

If you do decide to go lower at the front then you should accept that you are going to scrap on something sooner rather than later.

i have H&R progressive rate springs on my car. absolutly perfect.
it improves the handling no end but you wont feel every bump in the road.

they cost a bit more than kings but are the best option ( i feel) for a wrx.

Cant find them. Turns out you cant buy Linear Sprigs for struts, they are only available for coilover which i cant afford atm.

Eibach seems to be at the top of my list as they seem to have a lot of good reports where as the teins get bashed. However im reading that the Eibachs are fairly soft? Anyone with exprience with the Eibachs and something else wanna chime in.

As said the H&R Springs are great to use and widely available. That or you have a few other options:

Race Comp Engineering "blacks" (great but hard to source atm for the MY06)
Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering springs (like the H&R's)
Tein S-Tech's (as you've found out, not really that great)
King Springs (only for looks imo, some say they are good, I disagree)
Pedders = reserved for shit boxes and bogans. Do.not.want.

H&R's get my vote, purely because they work...plain and simple.

That or save up for some HSD HR coilovers (best bang for buck coilover if you want to buy them new) if you are looking at doing track work more frequently.

My 2c.
