Introducing myself. Hi... 05 or 06?

Hi all, I've been here for a while, but never did the introduction bit, so here it is.

Hello from North Queensland, I'm a new Subie owner with a WRX.

My car has a rego sticker saying 05, a chassis plate (passenger door) saying it was built Aug 05... AND a VIN that seems to tell me it's an 06...
Everybody who's seen it says it's an 06, but didn't the 05 get a makeover halfway through or something?
Am I reading the VIN wrong?
Anyway, for all intents and purposes, I just call it an MY06 and be done with it. Easier for parts shopping, etc.

I've driven WRXs before, but this is my first. Do all my own servicing, etc.
It's currently stock as, except I pulled the air pump and binned it, after I got a CEL.
That bloody tactrix is fantastic!

So, hi all, I've enjoyed chatting with a few of you here and on several other forums, look forward to more chats and hopefully getting amongst the meets.
Cheers

Hi, probably a 2005 MY06...does it look like the pic in my avatar?

Hello _______,

If it is the Hawkeye/Pignose shape with the 2.5 Litre engine then it's MY06, built late 05 as you have shown.

ps: Welcome to the mad house!

How are you going to get amongst the meets if you're in QLD?

The visual difference between an my05 and my06 is huge, google it and you'll have an answer in half a second
