About to drop 4000 plus
G day all I'm about to spend 4000 plus on a vf 34 turbo, tune, fuel pump at Maxinum Motorsport. I have a 07 Wrx with 3 inch cat back exhaust and blow off valve. It's the first time I've spent this much money on any performance mods on any car I've had and am just feeling a bit nervous parting with my hard earned cash. I has told to expect approx 220 hp at the wheels. What Im looking for is feedback on these mods. Am I wasting money 220 hp doesn't seem like a lot of power for such a high dollar.

You need to wait to see what is like when you drive it.
Also, MMS will be quoting figures at the wheels, and manufacturers quote figures at the flywheel. Have a look at the article in the paper today about the supercharging of a BRZ/86. That kit is $5k plus fitting. Many posts on here about forget about dyno numbers, its about seat of the pants numbers. And, looks like you'll be hooked. Next mod is? |
They sound like a good selection of mods for a road car. 220hp will be easy to achieve reliably.
You'll notice a fair bit more grunt than your current setup. |
I thought most vf34 modded cars hit at least 250hp. 220hp does sound a little low.

Presuming that comes with at least 20 grams of blow in the glovebox. |

Turbo $1500
Fuel pump $150 Tune $1500 (ecutek...) The rest in labour....? |
Turbo is available for much less than 1500
For 220hp - buy a boost controller for 500 dollars, and get a 1k verso. Done. |
$4k, you could get a lot more elsewhere for that coin.
