ZN6 with a Dak-Dak(FA20)
Hello I'm Steven. Long time lurker, bought an 86 with a Subaru engine in it just over a year ago. Here's a picture of it.
I've done a little bit of modding to the car now and am looking for options on tuning. Haven't really had much experience with it tbh as my last car was a 23yr old MX-6 Turbo. I'm on the fence about going with an Ecutek(already have purchased a license so can do remote tunes) or a "Verso" tune. Any advice on the two would be appreciated :) Oh, I'll probably stick to N/A for a while until after summer.. Update: Keeping the car as N/A Updated mod list |
Go the open source tune (verso) hands down and speak to a member called Intra here about that. Nice looking 86. Pick your tuner not your tuning software

Thanks I was thinking about going with ASG too. Currently it's been flashed with a base flash(generic with similar mods) from EcuTek.
Could that possibly be a problem? |
Nothing wrong with Ecutek on 86s, heaps of them have been done, and most of the bolt on Superchargers and Turbo kits ship with them.
|
Do you know any workshops that tune EcuTek's that are familiar with Subaru engines though(besides TMS)?
|
MMS and Evo-R

Actually, I'm really after a workshop/tuner that has good experience with Subaru engines. Verso/EcuTek should be fine, but I would prefer getting my car getting a safe/reliable tune with a lil bit of power for my I/H/E mods.

FA-20 is not your standard EJ20 - People everywhere are still learning. But both of those places service and build plenty of Subaru's and have been around for a very long time.

Took a pic last night with the Enkei's I picked off someone from this forum
Put some new KU36's on there for track work. |
Doin' it right.
