Welcome!

Search some driveway threads and it will give you heaps of ideas!

Don't get a Deatchwerks 65c, get the proper DW300+.

Now has the fitting kit for your model wrx - get from prospeedracing, the supplier in Sydney.

65c has a few known issues, doesn't maintain as much pressure, and also isn't E85 compatible(not that you're going to use it for this straight away but might as well future proof it!)
Research some more about it and its issues in high hp applications!

Get this:
http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/pro...08%252d13.html

My drive way thread might give you a few ideas of where to start, not the same model but you might find some good info of what parts you need to look at :-) - I started with a complete stock STi just a few months ago

http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/your-dri...7-rjs-sti.html

Together with Soksta's driveway for info and more wrx specifics, you should have plenty of info to get you going ;-)

There are a few options:
  • lowering springs
  • coilovers (ie KW V3)
  • spring/strut combos (Bilstein/Koni RCE/HR/Eibach)
Most likely more options if you are willing to do the reading and look around.

Welcome to the madness that is Perth-WRX.

RSD lists the unit as being compatible from 2008 - 2014.
I doubt that Subaru have changed the fuel delivery system since they released the MY08's.
Quick search online should yield some results on compatibility.

PSR have developped a fitment kit for the DW300 for 08-14 which requires no modifications. He is the AU distributor for Deatschwerks so I trust that it works.

EDIT: Correction! says this on the page "Modifiying the OEM CRADLE IS NEEDED ON THIS MODEL CAR" now don't know how easy/hard that is, but apparently he supplies that new cradle. 65c will work fine until you go looking for high hp, or just get a walbro 255! Soksta knows best what to do with parts etc as he has similar car to you, but I'd go with the better pump if it has the fitting kit these days. Call up PSR to find out, if its too much trouble don't.

Thanks lads, went with the DW 65C for the moment as it seems simple enough and I can upgrade down the track when I look at getting into the higher HP's.

Soksta, I had a look through your driveway thread and seen that you had the STI wing attached to your Rex... I gave Neil a ring at Unique Auto Refinishings and just waiting on a call back now, if you read this before he rings back, roughly how much did the part, fitting and spray of the wing set you back? Looks damn fine btw.

Once again, much appreciated with all the effort in replies. Invaluable lessons being learnt.

I have seen three gr/gv running 65c wo issues. Maybe just a model difference.

I would suggest aem cai as well. We did a few runs to test stock intake vs aem ar evor. Stock intake produces 5kpa more vacumn (restrictions) than aem. And u have to love that noise

Imo, Std coilover is best bang for ur bucks, so is project mu pada (hd front, b spec rear) plus goodridge ss brake line. Roughly around $2100, it will improve ur cars handling significantly.

Neil was responsible for the sealing up of the holes in the boot, installation and painting of the boot/spoiler.
The genuine spoiler was around $650 delivered, but for the life of me I can't remember what I paid Neil for the work.

yea he won't have any kind of issue until he tries to push past ~310 atw, which none of us with our dailies would anyway (except a certain lightly modified Fozzy we all know of haha)..then he can always change the pump when that day comes ...DW is a very good pump, whatever the model.
Definitely good choice and good advice from Soksta.

+1 for the P-Mu pads, they will put your face to the windscreen, best braking part choice I ever made - don't think I can ever use anything else now just won't be like P-Mu

Make sure you get the Type HC+ not the B-Specs

Welcome man.

lol @ recommending PMU HC+...

You got a mint new WRX...i wouldn't be ruining it with stiff cheap coilovers and HC+ if it's a street car.

+1

Research all advice given to you (unless it is from me, because I'm always right).

If it is a street car, I would avoid cheap ass coil overs and HC+ pads. HC+ needs some heat in them to stop them squealing. Get a good street pad.

If possible try and get a ride in a car with the coil overs / springs you are considering before buying. There is nothing worse than spending a heap of money only to find you have a stiff and uncomfortable ride. Personally for street, I'd be looking at lowering springs rather than coil overs.
