Scoobie Noobie requires advice for 08/09 Forrester XT Premium turbo exhaust upgrade

Hi Guys- am new to your website & looking for advice on upgrading my Forrester 08/09 XT premium turbo's exhaust system. Am happy to part with a reasonable amount for the upgrade- but don't want to spend my next years wages on it either. Any advice on what l need to provide the 'Subi sound', approx.costings, who to talk to etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance fellas.

Welcome aboard golfstorm.
What is your budget ? $600, $1000, $1500 ?
If you only want to some increased noise then that can be had cheaply enough. Also fitment to your forester will vary from the wrx systems on the market so keep that in mind when buying one.

Thanks for the prompt reply American Dave- around $1500 would seem reasonable. Am a novice in this area.... am looking for that definitive Subaru sound, along with increased power- am l asking too much for this price range?

I have also been told that if l change my exhaust- l may potentially need to get the Forrester re-tuned? Any ideas on if this is required- & if so- what is the general costing for this? Thanks again for your assistance.

You wont need to get the forester re-tuned unless you replace the stock dump pipe that comes of your turbo. I would start with a cat back system because it will give you the sound without needing to spend money on tuning it.
