Default Hi, I'm Oli from WestCar Detailing :)

Hey everyone! I'm very excited about becoming a PWRX sponsor and getting more involved wherever possible.

In 2003 I was 12 years old my Dad bought a new white bugeye sti from Osborne park. I was immediately hooked on all things Subaru.. " Dad, dad, fang it dad!! Go! " - every time he dropped me off to school

Years later the bug was long gone but it was time I bought my first car, a GX forester
Things progressed, I traded up to a liberty B4 just before coming off my P's
then a GenIV gt tbsti a while after that.

After starting WestCar I needed something more practical so I sold up and got a Holden Combo.. worst... decision ......... ever!!

It bored me shitless and cost me a lot of money in repairs. A nasty break up with my girlfriend at the time was the final straw and I decided I needed another Subie in my life.

I was set on the bugeye STI, great bang for buck, no frills and fun.
After almost settling on a black one in Sydney a white bug appeared locally on carpoint. It presented well despite a few nasty chinese extras and with a pre-purchase OK from MMS a deal was done and I picked it up 2 days later.

I hadn't mentioned to my oldies I was buying another car for fear of their reaction. I drove home and told my dad "he better come and have a look at something outside"

He came out and scoffed at my surprise Subaru but just as I was getting ready for a earful of scornful spending advice he stopped abruptly..

"Hang on my STI number plates used to be BKY something or other......"
We checked the log book and sure enough his name was signed on the first page!

After 10 years I had by chance, stumbled upon and bought my dads original bugeye without even knowing! We just stood there laughing in disbelief.

The car is very special to me, Its where my whole interest in cars and boost began. Indirectly, my business and a few of my best mates (ooh, car friends)
all stem from sitting in this very car as a pre pubescent boy.

Then and now
Mods list up soon.
Thanks and sorry for rambling!

Agreed the bug sti is awesome all round Marc, I meant no frills in terms of interior comforts considering I just got off the Liberty bandwagon.

Can definitely vouch for oli. Dude is a perfectionist, just have a look at his engine bay, i'd happily eat breakfast off it.
