Yep it's the labour costs with most workshops charging 100 an hour it ain't cheap ,timing belt is not something you do not want to let go.

Hey yeah well said everyone it was just that they told me they'd get it all done for just under$600 then charged me an extra $1000. In kms it wasn't due until 200,000 my car has 161,000 on the clock but apparently its 4 years or every 100,000 kms which ever comes first. If I had of known I would have called around for quotes and went with a more friendly price and had a written quote done up because I know the timing belt is one of the most essential parts of a car to maintain
