Introduction and help :D

Hey all
Been lurking around the forums for a while and figured I'd better say g'day.

Purchased an 09 wrx hatch, 95,000 k's totally stock, 9 months (and 2 accidents) later and slowly been doing small bits and pieces.
Slotted rotors with upgraded pads, ugly rear chrome trim delete (first thing to go), and a few little genuine subaru interior goodies from a recent trip to Japan.

Working my way towards the quad exhaust conversion and the STI hatch rear wing when my funds allow.

Now for my dilemma. While doing a thorough wheel cleanup, I noticed my front springs are yellow, which I thought was a bit strange as I assumed everything on the car was totally stock.
So my question basically is, does anyone know what color the stock springs on an 09 wrx are supposed to be?

Welcome!

Good future plans, be sure to budget for a tune to get the most out of your exhaust mods.

From memory the oem Springs are supposed to be black in the standard WRX's. GD STI's are pink. Yellow Springs are usually an indication of King springs being installed.

What colour are the rear springs?

Thanks, was planning on a tune and intake as well , just to be able to actually hear some nice turbo sounds and have everything running smoothly.

Makes sense, wouldn't of expected standard WRX oem springs to be anything other than black.
Didn't get the chance to have a look at the rears, but the car should be back from the panel beaters tomorrow hopefully, so I'll be having a closer inspection at them and possibly getting some photos to try figure out what they are exactly.

G3 WRX/STi oem springs are black

When you get the car back, lift up the front/rear and take the wheels off.
If they are King Springs there should be a code/model number written on the side of the spring.

Thanks for the info everyone!
Seems like the bloke I purchased the car off either didn't know or neglected to tell me they were fitted haha
Just adds the mysterious past of my car!
Different paint thickness on all panels except the roof.
Overspray marks inside the door jams.
Obvious orange peel marks on some panels.
A tonne of sand inside the spare wheel cavity (literally piles of sand)
But all in all drives and runs just fine!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone [emoji16]

2 accidents in 9 months. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!

Welcome aboard. We're a pack of crunts at times (ok, mostly me). Lots of good info as no doubt you have seen already. Hopefully you don't find too many nasty surprises with your car :(

First one was admittedly a rookie mistake haha turning left and saw the car in front go, watching cars coming from the right, went to go, and turns out the car in front hadn't actually gone....
Second one some A**hole decided to turn across in front me going 60kmh even though cars turning left were blocking his view, quick reflexes managed to save it from being a full on t-bone but I still clipped his back end, then to top it off they did a runner as well.......,

Other than that it's been very smooth sailing with the car itself. Just slowly coming to terms with how much fuel it chews through daily driving it......
