Default Just got my dream MY98 WRX

Hi everyone!!!

Just got a 1998 MY98 WRX in my favourite color reddish blue.

Previous owner has really taken care of it inside and out with minimal wear and tear. gearbox has been replaced with an STI 5 speed and brakes have been upgraded to 4 pot MY00.

Engine has done 230xxx kms but is in very good condition and surprisingly has had no power mods whats ever.

future mods will include fixing all little problems (window switch, boot seal) also a process west intercooler and full track ready suspension set up.

Great choice in car!

Really keen to see some pics of this reddish blue colour

Window switches seem to be a problem for cars of this age, mine are on the way out too...

Thanks to everyone for the likes,

Ever since i was a little kid playing gran truismo and colin macrae rally on playstation i knew one day i had to get a GC8!

I've come from owning a 2008 Subaru Liberty 3.0R B-spec manual and i have to say the gc8 is ten time more fun to drive! Its also quicker even though i had the 3.0R aggressively tuned.

I think I'm really lucky to find one in this condition, it has a handfull of minor issues that I'm getting fixed before i do some further improvements on the car. I have often found myself on perth wrx even before i got my wrx so i thought its about time to join up

looking forward to making a few mates here and post updates on the car.

now for my first question...

The speedo sometimes won't work and to get it working again the previous owner told me i have to tap the dash until it works, which i do and it does work after a few taps.

I was wondering if this is common, what it could be and how hard is it to fix because the thought of me smacking the dash every second time i start the car upsets me.
