Default First post!

Hi Everybody my name's Salim.

I've recently bought my first WRX and turbo car.
I purchased a 2008/MY09 WRX which needs the turbo replaced.
It still drives and all but it doesn't have the power that it usually should and when I give it a hit there's a really loud winding/screaming noise.
The car is completely stock.

I'm most likely posting this in the wrong place but I've been shopping around for turbos on eBay and I hoping that some people can give me a heads up whether I'm on the right track or not. These are two that I have found but I have no idea if they actually fit the Aussie variation or if they are different at all.

They look like hand grenades. Don't do it. Try and find a second hand vf52 if you can.

The first link at least has the correct flange to mate up to a stock 08+ intercooler. The second link doesn't. I've not heard of either of those brands, and they are suspiciously cheap. I would personally avoid.

Look to a second hand vf52 as Nic says, you should be looking at around $500-$700 for a good one. It's also worth noting that if the turbo you change to isn't the same as what came off the car, you will need a tune. That adds more to your costs ($1k+ typically).

You could get a quote to repair your current turbo depending on what's wrong with it.
