New turbo replacement

just blew my vf22 20g, :(:( ran like a dream at 15psi, 9cm housing, equal length stainless headers, bell mouth dump, 200 cpi cat, 3 inch stainless jjr exhaust, 550cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, piggy back smt smart power 6 ecu, 02 sti tmic, alloy y pipe, plumb back 02 sti blow off valve, 75mm high flow pod filter, 10mm leads, platinum plugs

thinking td06h 20g/25g, upgrade injectors to 1000cc and high flow fuel rails, new to wrx game, please help guys

any suggestions are welcome :)

please guys, help a fellow wrx owner out, don't have big bucks to spend, willing to spend 2k or there abouts, fuel system and turbo, might spend a little extra and get fmic, gotta get this thing sorted quick, was a daily driver, now running around in a gay triton ute, so not cool

Find a replacement VF22 otherwise nearly half of your budget will be spent on a retune.
You don't need 1000cc injectors either, so save that cash. 550's will be plenty and factory rails flow more than enough too, maybe just parallel them for saftey if you're messing about with them. (plenty can be found on that with a search of this forum)
Im presuming its a GC you've got if a GD intercooler is an upgrade?
TD06-25G is poo poo for a street car really, even laggier than a VF22. Even worse again if you slap a front mount on it also. VF34\35 or TD05-16\20G are the most common street turbo people go for and can be found quite common.

Heard plenty of good things about the VF48 too, much newer than the archaic VF22

turbo replacement

thanks hurtenstein, i really want to retune anyways, as I do track days at Winton Raceway when I can and I don't just use this thing to look pretty, I like to drive hard, so I am really looking to get more power, I love to keep revs up, I just love the sound of the boxer when she's a working hard

and sorry man, it's a gf8 1999 my00

rebuilt the 5 speed last year, chewed 2nd to shreds power shifting and replaced clutch with 6 puck ceramic and added a lightened flywheel, have added a super pro alloy pitch stop and have silver project engine and gearbox mounts also, would love a 6 speed conversion too at some stage

Hurtenstein 19-05-2017 08:58 PM

That clutch sounds like a 5 speeds worst nightmare. Start saving...

yeah, it shudders like a b@#ch, should I may have gone with dual friction instead

Punkah Rexxy 19-05-2017 09:16 PM

what is best housing size for 20g td05, 7,8,9 or 10cm

XT43 19-05-2017 10:28 PM

What is power shifting?

Or alternatively, you could have just gotten an OEM replacement clutch? I don't have much power in my GC8 though, so I don't get a chance to power shift much admittedly, so maybe I don't know.
