Eski's Bugeye WRX

Hi guys and girls,
My names Matt and i have recently got a 2001 wrx. This is my first Subaru and so far im loving it. The car is getting used as a daily so nothing crazy MOD wise if I can control myself. I'm pretty sure all it has at the moment is a pod filter and turbo back exhaust. I plan on taking it on some unsealed roads for a bit of fun every now and then. Hopefully one day I can meet up with some of you so I can get a better knowledge of Subaru's (come from Toyota background) Anyway here is the only pic I have for now |
Welcome aboard.

Welcome Matt. Congrats on the purchase, it looks like it is a very tidy example! If it has got a TBE you may find that it has had an ecu re-flash to go along with it. Otherwise, this is a pretty cheap 'mod' you could do to get some good additional power :icon_cool

Sweet, I'm not to sure weather it has or not but it sounds like something I should be looking into
|
So today I pulled the headlights out and blacked out the chrome shroud inside. At the same time I restored the outer plastic as they were getting pretty cloudy and yellow. I'll throw some pics up tomorrow but I think they turned out great

OK while under the car today I noticed I have a power steering leak from a fitting on the rack. In the picture it's the hose on the right.
Anyone know why it might be leaking all of a sudden? Does it have an oring or is it flared? Or what thread size it is? Sorry for all the questions, just asking so I can get the parts before removing |

The lights look great mate, how did you go about restoring the outer plastic? Mine could do with a bit of work. |
@TrevorB cheers buddy
For the light lenses I just bought turtle wax light restorer from an auto store. Mainly because it Was The cheapest but also had lease sealer in it. I think the main thing with doing them is take your time sanding! The instructions say sand for a minute or two but trust me do the first step for ages to get rid of all the yellowing. All the sand pads after that are to just get the heavier scratches out from the first pad |

This arrived today! Genuine STI bugeye scoop. Hopefully a can paint it decent haha then get it on.
I need to get my bonnet resprayed at some stage due to paint flaking pretty bad new one Of The headlights. I ended up just using a white spray can over the top for now just so it doesn't stand out too much but Yea will have to get it sorted |

Got it all painted and installed on the weekend. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out considering if never really painted anything

Good stuff mate! The more you practice the better you will get. I have done some terrible paint jobs before so trust me when I say yours is a great first effort haha :D
