Steering Wheel
 

Hey again guys,

Hope you're all well :)

Just wondering if anyone can help with suggestions on steering wheel.

So recently I bought a full set of front & rear GD STI Seats, I love it, it sits a little higher om the front seats which is more suitable for my frame.

The only issue I have is that because it sits higher the steering wheel I have is closer to the edge of the seat, hope this makes sense.

So Ideally I would like to have a smaller diameter steering wheel, of course there seems to bea lot of nice options to go after market but the standard is the momo steering wheel with airbag and of course kost of the aftermarket steering wheel are non-airbags.

I'm actually not that fuss about the airbag but more the leagility side in case I ever get pulled over by cops and also insurance side of it.

What I'm wanting to know is:
1. Is it illegal to change factory steering wheel with airbag to afternarket non airbag?
2.are there any aftermarket steering wheel with airbag options that are smaller in diameter? Or maybe a later model wrx that are a but smaller in diameter?
3. Would it be possible to bypass the airbag lights if it keeps coming on in teh dash if I swap to aftermarket non airbag?

1 yes. Well not road worthy atleast.
2 yes. Could look at something like damd wheels.
3 yes. A 20c resister can be used. (Refer to Q1.)

I've seen the Damd from pro speed racing when I did a google search but they said it's for a 08-14 wrx/STi, would that fit on a GC8?
