Default New to the scenery, derp.

Hi all,

New to the scene , but old to Wrx’s.
I currently own a 2013 wrx which I have owned for about a week now. It was pretty much an impulse buy but hey I don’t regret it .
This will be the 5th wrx I have owned , including 2xgc8, 2005 wrx, 2017 wrx premium and now black 2013 wrx all of which have to be modified to some extent .

I have always been into my turbo cars but have always stayed away from groups and clubs preferring to be a what I call a “lone wolf”.
Somewhat in my mind I thought I would be harder to find when terrorising the streets.
Anyway the reason I joined was to hopefully find the previous owner to my black dagger and shed some light on this( I bought it from Burswood Honda , and most salesman have verbal diarrhoea).

Last owners name was Jordan

2013 black wrx , leather , sunroof , 72,000kms full Subaru service history.

So here are the mods that I have receipts for:
07/2018. Rota grid 18x9 rims
10/2018 nvidia dump pipe and tune by maximum motorsports
10/2018 nvidia n1 cat back exhaust ( change this Poo soon)
01/2019 tomei uel headers and uppipe installed by evo R
02/2019 Fuel pump + e port + tune by evo R ( all it says on the receipt )
6/2019 Cobb short shift and Cusco lsd oil by evo R

As for the mods I have noticed which I don’t have receipts for , haven’t had time to put it up in the air and have a really good look.

Are:
Perrin pitch stop mount
Mishimoto cold air intake
Perrin turbo cover
Sub frame lockdown kit
Diff lock down kit
Other Perrin engine dress ups
Full lip kit
Wing
Double dish head unit and speakers

So I’ve got it booked it at maximums for a leakdown and Comp test,
Are maximums any good anymore who’s the front runner with wrxs nowadays?

Being retuned by evo R 6 months ago, are they any good or should I have it retuned elsewhere? I’m all about facts not rumours

Other things I want to know are engine/gearbox/drivetrain/diff safe hp capacity someone who can steer me in the right direction.
I don’t want to open the engine and other components until they blow, but I don’t want them to blow next week either .

What other mods for this model are do’s and donts?

Thanks again

Fear

Dyno sheet/numbers/bragging rights.

Car looks good. Does it scrub at all? Looks like some good poke there.

Cheers.

Nah not at all , and has a nice ride. Even with Perth’s shitty roads.
At some point I’d like to drop it so I couldn’t even tell you if the guards are rolled.

I fly back in next week and I’ve got it booked in with maximums( which I might cancel)
Pedders and race torque for a power run, so I’ll be able to pass on actual numbers.
But after spending nearly an hour on the phone with RT , he bets his balls and has proven cars that he can get me 240kw at the wheels on stock motor and tranny with no problems.
Should last me a little bit while I prepare for a big build, taking into account I’ll give it a thrash a week out of a month.

240kw on 98 or e85. Big ask on 98... e85 no problem. Will it all hold together?

That will depend how you drive it.

That is true, 98 I forgot to mention I’ll be adding a intercooler and turbo.
I drive hard not abusive giving the occasional full throttle when others want to play. I don’t launch or do track days I just like the midnight runs , not the curry kind but the turbo kind.

To be honest I’ve found you can never really unwind two full gears without hitting traffic, cameras or dash cam whingers,
Let’s say my setup will be good for 20,000kms before something blows even 15,000kms. Let’s say I drive 500kms the week I am home
But working 3/1 it’s just a toy, if it breaks it breaks, I won’t complain my misses might) if and when it happens back to the drawing board.

I wrote this huge reply but I had to re sign in losing it all.

Basically heaps have more on stock, in the states .
Might be different I don’t know.
Most engine fails , were running on 91 fuel or less.
And running longer.

Transmission used to be crap I agree, but so many times I’ve seen others shock load a box , with launches , 5/6 changes into 3rd under full throttle trying to race others.
Then next week at the track complain the box broke under easy acceleration.

Be a diesel fitter I’ve watch other mechanical parts, rigging gear and cranes being shockloaded then the next day some other poor bloke used the part and it fails leaving him confused on his own actions.
Most of the kids in Perth Can’t even merge let alone shift right.

But time will tell .
But I’ll never really know because I bought second hand.

Peace
