Brakes are free in Targa.

Should have a direct comparison using my factory S206 STi brakes Vs the KiDo 380mmx32mm brake kit going into my Forester

You're swapping these out:

for these:

why? Correct me if I am wrong but those are 18-inch 2 piece drilled disk rotors (which is 450mm?) with 6 pot brembo calipers at the front, swapping for 380mm rotors with, I assume, the 8 pot setup? Nothing against KiDo brakes, but that is a pretty tough ask to outperform those for any off the shelf brake system regardless of brand purely because you're going to a smaller disc. You've just reduced your surface area by ~45631mm^2 on each face?

*my maths could be well off, but still

Have a look at any photo of an S206 wheel and tell me how a 19" wheel fits on an 18" rotor and still has room for a caliper plus the massive gap between caliper and rim

Nothing is permanent either, just a comparison on how an $8K new brake set compares...

That was my thinking as well when I first read 18inch rotor, but I rolled with that figure anyway ... Is it a 277mm rotor?

Either way those Brembos are absolute class. Bigger rotors and pads will most likely stop quicker so the kidos should do well. I'd be interested to see how they hold up to brake fade more than anything

I'll buy the S206 brakes off you then

If you are doing a comparison, please use the same brake pad compound.

I'm assuming this will be difficult as I don't see any pad manufacturer making pads for Sti 6 pot and Kido 8 pots.

Propitiatory pads in Kido brakes only or do other manufacturers make pads for them?

I'd imagine they take a fairly common pad shape, seeing as they are a copy of an Alcon caliper anyway.
GTB Liberty likes this.

I believe AP Racing pads (and rotors?) fit in Kido calipers.

Would be more keen to see a 6 pot vs 6 pot test tbh..Not many of us are likely to shell out for the 8 pots I wouldn't have thought..
