Actually you sort of learn to drive around it but yes it has an off/on throttle response problem present and am told its due to the AFM being for a 3ltr engine rather then a 2ltr.

It doesnt actually jerk when changing gears, its more when you are driving, hit a bump with the throttle on and you move (foot) with the car. Down the drags shes fine.

Hey Sphoolin,

Just to confirm, u do get "flat spots" with the pfc and z32 afm is it? Especially in gear 1 when u r moving off, there seem to be a flat spot and it feels the car is about to stall. However after moving, it runs fine. I've the same setup as u, just not tuned yet. U reckon this prob will persist or it can be "tuned-out"?

Cheers

I'm also running PFC with Z32AFM and I can't say I've ever noticed this apparent 'flatspot' that you guys are speaking of. Had this system on the 99 for close to two years now and the only problem I've really had was when the car used to whistle moan, and then die, however, that was unrelated (dodgy intake line). Maybe it has to do with the tune, I'm not entirely sure, but I noticed a definate improvement on throttle response from the day I had it installed and tuned. Maybe it's got to do with mods (approx 190wkw) compared to the more power you guys have.

I dont think i have more power in that regard astralex. I have about 258hp and to explain it better, if i drop my foot off the accelerator then apply my foot, it has a little jerk. Its odd, ive been trying to see if anyone else gets it but noone usually replies :<

I dont think i get "flatspots". At one stage i was getting them, but thats because my spark plugs were pretty average. I changed them to NGK PFR7B's as i was running higher boost 1.2-1.3bar and was recommended them by a person off rexnet. It went like a dream, was solid throughout all gears.

Keeping in mind, i have never had the PowerFC in without a tune. I wasnt game enough hah. Was tuned at by Sean which am told is guru with PowerFC.

I don't seem to get these little jerks you speak of. I know a lot of jerks..hmm, wrong crowd, forget that one. But no such problems like that on my blue bitch. Although I think it needs a tune, seems to be getting very thirsty of late.
