g1 link ecu (possum bourne)
looking for a bit of help here
have had a g1 ecu for last 6 yrs running my impreza it is a ver 3+4 3 plug g1 ecu with a wrx97r chip in it which has 6 rows of tuning looking at if it is possible to fit a wrx99r (10 rows of tuning) into my existing board to give me better resolution of tune when i get remapped for a gt28 turbo and 650cc injectors on 99 ron fuel date for my map is 15th august 2014 and are the wrx99r chips still available cheers neil |
Not sure if you will be able to do what that as I haven't seen anyone run the g1 ecu for a long time and the chances of getting the chip will be slim to none. Might be time to upgrade to the newer G4+ range of ecu's will have greater res and have a lot more functions over the G1

been running 251kw (337bhp in my money) for last year with no issues and for last 5 yrs running 205kw (275bhp)
according to my mapper (andy forrest) the resolution is a bit low to run 3 bar map sensor, might be a bit jumpy between load cells at that boost spacing planning to run atleast around 320kw (430bhp) from my gt28 turbo but required at least 1.8 bar of boost and the g1 limit on standard mapp is 254kpa or 1.54 bar of boost if chip cant be replaced will go to the limit of 1.5 bar of boost thanks for your help also posted on the link ecu forum on the link home page |
Man that's some good numbers I envy you :)
Stop playing with that old crap and get something built this millennium.
Do it right and get the upgrade to modern tech. You will be regretting it in 12 months time when you will be wanting more boost and power. I am guessing the newer ecus would be easier to tune as well like most hardware and software. |
now running a g4 storm wire in ecu
modern technology :) |
