Nice. Go blaise!

Go Blaise in your "lancer" ;)
Paris had a trouble-free second day of the event in his Mitsubishi Lancer and now leads Tasmania Andrew Richmond by 27 seconds. |

I know a "lancer" becomes an EVO. Just always find it funny when an EVO is reffered to in that way. |
Essentially my mum drives one of those... Yes is that now cool?
No. |
I find it funny how GTR's and STi's are referred to as Skylines or Imprezas.
Wait... Wut... |
The same goes with subies
People call them wrx even tho is an sti or s204 or spec c lol |

But more importantly, Dean is running in 4th.... with the Whites out of contention, it is possible (from my rough calculations) that Dean could win the Australian Targa Championship if he finishes 3rd or higher and Close finishes not more than one place above him...at the moment Close is 2nd... Update...it now seems that Close has dropped to third! |
Close in 2nd. Also Glenney has crashed out.
|
Weeks is out in the other Lambo.
Whoever wins out of Herridge and Close will win the targa championship. Rain is forecast for tomorrow and there are over 180km's of competitive stages. To put that into perspective the whole of targa west is only about that. There is one stage that is 55km's by itself. Lots of fun on E85 with a 55ltr fuel tank. Refuel and the start and at the end of the stage. Blaise is still leading at the end of day 3 and his times would put him in the top 6 or so of modern. Awesome result so far in his first targa tas. Yes Blaise is doing great!
Be good to see Herridge take out the championship too. |
Top effort from Blaise
|
HUGE result for Dean Herridge to take out the 2011 Australian Targa Championship....second in Targa Tas with some other consistent results.
Great reward for a number of years of hard work by Maximum Motorsport. This result would be one of the highlights of Dean's career. Also well done to Blaise for taking out early modern. |
Awesome result for Dean and the MMS crew! :icon_thum

Cheers for the support all,
and yes, congrats to Dean for showing that consistency in a car closer to what we can all afford can get results against the supercars. He came past me on a wet stage with it sideways over a crest left foot braking. Had the best seat in the house for "the deano show." He can certainly pedal... Had an awesome time over there. The event is very well run, the roads are unbelieveable with everything from very fast (topped out at 235kmh) and flowing to tight point and shoot. Was blown away by how generous the guns of the sport (Herridge, White, Close etc.) are with their information. All were very happy to offer good advice before and during the event, which if you took it on board, definately helped. For us, everything came together. The car ran flawlessly, just bled the brakes and tipped fuel in it, the missus was a gun on the notes, and our recci was thorough enough to make sure we stayed on the road and didnt get caught out....and we had a bit of luck. And that probabaly made the difference at the end of the day. We had some luck and some of our closest rivals didnt.... oh, and we didnt miss a turn and drive through a paddock like Snowy and Newton did :) lol. Truly unique event. Lets hope its around for another 20 years. |
Great effort and really well done Blaise....and Snowy & Matt stalking you the whole way!
Was a really good result for Graham Iddles and Shane to end up around 21st. |
would have been 20th if that damn Lambo didn't catch us on Sunday!!!
|
They do that....Lambos...
