Event is October 1 and 2 peeps. That's just over a month. Please get your entries in!
We have nearly confirmed that a Top Gear-style documentary will be made of the event, likely available on DVD and/or BluRay. So enter now to get ya mug and car on teh internetz.
Here's a vid from my last round to show that you DON'T need to worry about braking your box if you're calm! (this is a quicker technique anyway). I doubt I engaged the clutch after the handbrake at more than 3k, apart from the launch.

For those who want to get some practice in before the big event, there is a Practice Khana on September the 18th.

If you have never done any motorsports or just want to have some fun,
the Mini Car Club will pay for your entry - that's right FREE for noobs!

All the details here: Motorkhana WA - main page

Hi guys

I am from Canberra and I was coming over to Perth to race in the AMC in a few weeks and was seeing if anyone from here was entering.

I was going to ship my car across but it probably wont be ready in time, plus it will cost over 2500 to get it there and back, so I thought I would see if anyone would be willing to hire me their car for the event. I would be willing to put a new set of rubber on the car and pay for your entry and everything.

Alternatively if you new anyone or a business that would do the same, send them my way.

My number is 0420 722 001, give me a call with any ideas or solutions

Thanks

BTW here is a video of me in my car

Trying to load the links but my internet is shaped like a boss

Alex: How complex are the courses? I've only ever done the PDC days at RAC....

Also can i enter solo or do i need a "marque"....

Basically the only track experience i've had is PDCs and tuning arvos....i'd love to do this if it isn't too much harder....

Also by harder i mean difficulty in learning the courses and also how hard it is on the car....

Reece, i couldn't get the YouTube link working properly but a little digging got me to vids of you in a Toyota Chaser and maybe Skyline? Are these the types of cars you're looking for – RWDs? I might have some help for you soon...

Kiddo: will PM you soon (day or two) with some info

The videos of me in a friends chaser are just mucking around, the ones in my skyline are more serious especially if they are from the state rounds and nationals.

Last year at nationals I competed in my Renault Sport Clio and I have entered events in Sti's, evo's and GTR's, so i am really looking for anything that will do handbrake turns and will be semi competitive.

I have won Handicap outright 2 years in a row and I was 2 fastest production car outright last year and 3 prod outright in my first year. But my skyline has been off the road and I was getting it ready but It looks like it won't be able to get it over to Perth in time, and it the fact it wil cost more than 2000 to get it there and back, for essentially a standard 32 gtst with a few mods. So I thought I would try and find someone that is doing it, pay for some rubber and whatever and borrow someones car

Check out the results for the last 2 years here, scroll all the way to the bottom

Kid, come & try at the practice day this Sunday.
My 12 year old & I will be doing it in the Duct Tape Swift Gti.

If he can manage it, I'm sure you can.

Reece: you're in a Beemer M3 now yeah? Thank me later
PS: How do you get the fancy-pants self-adjusting French-made handbrake on the Clio to work!! I can't get it to lock (my dad has a 182 Cup).

Kid: definitely come along. Obviously you can't come to the practice day this Sunday with the Colin cruise being on, but there is another practice day the Saturday before the event (event being on the Sunday) and there will be fellow Subie owners there to give you plenty of tips.
You don't need to enter in a marque; you just enter solo. The marques are meant for situations where you might get a LOT of competitors in one model of car and you want to have sort of 'team vs team' situations. e.g. we'll probably have 2-3 MX5 teams as there's quite a number of cars and multiple drivers for each car. I can't see us getting enough AWDs to bother making any teams.

Hope that helps. Any more questions, just ask.

Thanks Alex, I forgot to ask Mike where he got the info from.

Can't wait, guess we will have to put a team together to compete against team mx5.

Speaking of bad handbrakes, what sort of mx5's are you driving. I actually drove a 197 last year at nationals and they hanbrake really well, just not accurately with the torsion rear end, once you have pulled it, the back end is coming around
