Meelup hill climb cancelled
 

Went looking for results from this years event and found this news on the LFP SES site.I hope this doesnt mean an end to the event as it is an awesome run out the car park and up the hill.

Meelup cancelled
As open style vehicles have now been prevented to run at the Meelup Hillclimb, the LF Performance Speed Event Series has decided to withdraw that venue from its calendar. We would all like to thank Ross Tapper, Lynn Matthews and the volunteers from the WACC for their hard work in hosting this event over the last few years. We hope to bring a replacement event to the Calendar in 2012.

Heard great things about that place. Was looking forward to giving it a run next year as part of the series. Oh well... have to find another event that runs there now.

I believe it was cancelled because the CAMS were no longer going to allow open top cars to compete there due to safety concerns.

The SES decided that they would pull it from the calendar if the whole field couldn't enter for some reason..

^^^ Yeah, I heard there was similar pressure being applied at Albany as well. It was suggested to the open wheelers that they needed to be on their best beahviour. A major off will probabaly spelll the end of the open wheelers on those courses.
