I've recce'd the Malaga stage. There will be some very quick bits - especially the trip down Westchester Drive past Maximum's.
By very quick you mean 200kph max right? :) |
Is this 100% go? I'll be keen to come have a look.

Yeah 200, but there's a nasty bump about halfway down on the left. I think they might put a chicane in there. Breaking point is just past the MMS driveway cutting the right 6 into a right 3minus. |

Yes. Looks like a goer. Road closure looks official. http://www.targawest.com.au/Portals/0/docs/QTW12/Malaga%20Stage.pdf |

Actually, there's a chicane in there now. Doesn't make much difference as it's right near the end. |

The chicane is there for safety; to slow you down for a higher risk, slower sharper corner at the end.
That's one of the reasons why Motorsport has been pushed further and further away from metro areas.
Collie, Harvey, York and even Nannup all have strong opponents to Motorsport in their towns. Some have succeeded in having the events moved or cancelled all together. I struggle to understand why there is such opposition to a well organised, once a year event in an area that could well provide a great boost to the local economy?:dontknow:
Thank god for Manjimup/Pemberton...but unfortunately over 3 hrs from Perth... |
8000 rpm eh? Shall I pick you up a box-o-rods when i collect my bag-o-apex-seals? :)
