At the time I didn't think so. They weighed us after the second run at Malaga. We might've had more fuel (maybe 3/4) as we had to do Malaga 3 and the 3 city stages

Mine with nothing, i.e. No fuel, no spare tyre, no first aid kit, no driver, passenger, video etc is under 1400kg. Homologated weight is 1295. Good luck getting anywhere near that without carbon doors...

The biggest problem in this debate is the efficiency of the evo's and sti's. If they werent so fast for a 'family sedan' which people think they can buy and put a bolt in cage in and go as fast as herridge, vandenberg, evans etc the big kids wouldnt have to go so hard in their porsches and gtr's! It was only 10 or so years ago you had to be invited to targa as and 4cyl japanese shit boxes werent considered special enough to play.

I am a scoobie noobie as you can see and im trying to find out info on the targa west rallys.

Is there no more till next year now and can anyone take their car into the events?

Im guessing there are different classes as I only have a 97 gc8 so coming against an sti or something would obviously just destroy me but do they have a website or something?

Thanks!

Google Targa West and this comes up.

Quit Targa West Tarmac Rally 2012 > Home

There is also Targa South West

Killarnée Targa South West > Home

I would sugest get into rallysprints first to get the feel of rallying before you commit to Targa. Targa will cost you $10k+ to even dip your toe in.

There's a rallysprint series held at Kwit Motorplex in Kwinana that is run by the same team as Quit Targa West and Targa South West. Well run events with a good mix of cars. It's the closest thing to rallying you can do in a road car. After a few of those you'll have enough contacts to go the next step should you wish to.
