I mean, given they are all working off the same platform with the same restrictions, it doesn't matter if the car is badged as a Nissan, Merc, Holden, Ford or Great Wall.

What will matter is the team/engineers setting that car up.

^ That's the point I was attempting to make. Obviously it depends on how much backing Nissan provide but I fail to believe that the makers of the almighty GTR and SLR Mclaren will set the car up the same as Ford/Holden. Different culture, different thinking and different solutions.

Either way it will be more exciting.

so what if they have the same specs for wheelbase/track etc etc same gearboxes, same diffs, same power output... its how you deliver that power that can make all the difference, how efficient the fuel burn is on the engine, i don't really have to explain more do it? i'll just say...

Chris, Ive got some stuff from another forum I am on - fundamentally they will be aligning to parity.. ie ensuring that its peak power, power curve, etc, etc all fundamentally the same.

Seeing the amount if internal memo's Nissan have been releasing about upcoming V8 stuff I can tell you Nissan Australia are 100% behind the motorsport stuff currently. They will be doing everything they can to be as competitive as possible (within reason - the 1st year or so will be a lot of testing etc) as it will be great PR for the brand, and the VK56DE Motor (which is a tweaked version of the new Patrol V8 coming in January).

TKR also have support from a little group of guys some might know as NISMO. they might know a thing or 2 about tuning. i would say their support plays a major role in this. given NISMOs reputation they arent renowned for being uncompetitive.

i like watching v8 supercars, i could watch shop riders racing or even postie bikes, racing is racing..love it. the more makers the merrier. and as quoted before, more makers are keeping the sport alive.

love the sound of the multivalve over run / limiter bash toward the end of the clip.
