Default McRae Rallysprint series 2012-2013

The new series starting tomorrow night!

2012/13 Rallysprint Series Dates:
• Round 1 - Thursday 1 November
• Round 2 - Thursday 13 December
• Round 3 - Thursday 24 January
• Round 4 - Thursday 7 February
• Round 5 - Thursday 7 March

I'm not entered to drive tomorrow night but will be in the co-drivers seat with James (RSR WRC) and Simon Bate. First event looks for me looks like it will be the January one.

Who else will be down there?

First car will generally start about 6pm and run until 9/930pm.
Spectator entry is free and there are plenty of good spots to watch/ take photos from!

Also I know dad who runs the timing system/webpage for the Rallysprint series has been putting in alot of work during the break to bring the live results system to the internet so you can just use mobile data to get results instead of having to connect to the wireless network. The page he has design uses the tinyest bit of data required to update so even if you left your phone running for the whole night you wont need to worry about data usage. Feel free to give us any feedback via the Facebook page during/after the event.

I'll be there of course.
Unfortunately not running though.
Got the car back today, but my back requires more surgery so looks like I might not make any of this season

Interested in doing this...

Couple of questions...

After the recon laps, do they take the fastest lap out of the 4? Or is the time a summation of all 4 laps?

How big is that dip near the burnout pit? I notice in one direction there is a chicane right before, but in another direction you have a bit of distance before the dip. My car is around 11- 12cm off the ground at the lowest point...wondering if i will have any issues clearing it at speed.

Also what does the navigator normally do? I imagine the course is fairly simple to follow, so maybe yell out braking points etc?

Just trying to get my head around it all as i don't have much experience.

Thankyou.

Will come down tomorrow for a look and see how everything works. Interested in putting my name down for the future stages pending car condition and co-driver availability.

You do 4 laps and they throw out your worst 1.

Tommy: Like Cam said do, 4 and your worst is dropped.

EDIT: I just looked at the videos and have no idea what i just said.. In short I don't think you'll have any issues.

The one i did driving, the Co-driver sat there for the ride, and thats what ill be doing tomorrow night. I do know there are people through out the field that do do proper pace notes and some just run off the ones they give out at documentation.

The dip into the burnout pit isnt bad, its a decline not a "bump". I couldnt/cant seeing it be an issue in your car. There lower cars than yours there :-)

My nav i had just sat down and held on and enjoyed the ride.
Unless you are super awesome mad skills driver you wont place in the top 5 or 10.

I took it as a night of hoonage around a diferent complex for a change and had a blast!
