Okey Dokey......... After speaking to the people at Tech Edge, they recomended their 2j1 wideband controller.

Details are:

"WBo2 version 2J, introduced in January 2007, is Tech Edge's low cost, but great quality, single-channel, entry level wideband controller. 2J is lower cost because it has slightly simpler circuitry, has a fixed cable to the sensor, and works only with the Bosch 4.2 LSU sensor (either 7057 or newer 7200). It retains many of the features of other Tech Edge units including inbuilt analogue channel capture and RPM capture. Our 2j1 is a more accurate (12 bit hardware DAC output) than other units on the market.

Tech Edge 2J1 WBo2 Features
Reads from λ = 0.61 (AFR = 9.0) to free-air. Within +/- 0.1 from AFR 11 to 17.
Differential WBlin wideband 0-5 Volt output.
Uses new Bosch LSU 4.2 7200 sensor (or 6066 too*).
WBlin configurable (12 bit DAC) from AFR=9.0 to free-air.
Auto-cal button calibration with sensor in free-air.
NBsim narrowband (9.5 bit configurable) output.
2 analogue 0 to 5 Volt inputs sampled at up to 40/sec.
RPM input from Tacho or ECU for logging.
PULSE input from VSS sensor or cruise control for logging.
10.5 to 19.5 Volt DC operation (up to 3 Amps).
Free logging software (optional upgrade available).
Unit has RS232 output for no loss of wideband accuracy."

Sensor wise..... I've gone for the Bosch LSU 4.2 (0258 007 200) 5 wire Pump cell sensor (compatible with the 2J1 above).

This sensor is the upgraded 7057.........

This is a proper wideband LSU [B][U]unlike the L1H1[/U][/B] extended narrow-band sensor sold with some other units.

Suprisingly the 7200 Lsu is used in the VZ commodore as the standard sensor (these engines are lean burn engines - running as lean as 17.5) the genuine GM part # 1257 5904 IS the Bosch sensor in a GM box (the Sensor is still marked 0258 007 200)...........Save yourself $$ off the Bosch boxed sensor and buy the Gm packed sensor.

Hey Rossco...

Looking at one of these puppies. What display did u go for? The LX1? And can u take a pic of the end of the I/O cable please and post it? Or mms it to my phone? :)

I can go one of these units, as the M800 does interface with the Bosch/GM you were saying 4.2 LSU 7200 sensor. And for the price, looks like it will do the WB job nicely.

Brent get the wideband option on your motec enabled, go buy the motec loom, never look back. If for some reason you want a flashy screen telling you how many lambdaz you are doing, buy the [URL="http://motec.com.au/plm/plmoverview/"]PLM[/URL]. You were talking about getting a dash anyway, any motec dash and most aftermarket oens should be able to read the value from your ECU.

brent, as matt says, [U]absolutely[/U] use the motec option for wideband input.

it is the same sensor as above.

I only went for this unit because my lowly(?) powerFc doesn't have any form of wideband controller built in.....

I'm using the the wideband along with a datalogit & Fcedit to log my wb output and tune via AFR, only it's narrow band output is used by the powerfc for continuous automatic cruise AFR trimming.

A display isn't really needed anyway but I did buy an LD02 diy kit from tech edge to build as a bit of a project.

I'll only use the display for track days, not permanantly mounted.

more people should play with these kind of kits (regadless of ecu) and learn about AFR's in general.

a lot of people wouldnt understand the difference between cruise/load/decel afr's without seeing them displayed on the fly, let along the heating cycles, different fuel types (different octanes etc) and the relationship to EGT's.

Totally agree with you stace,

The unit is cheap with an all up cost of about $300 for controller, sensor and diy display.

I've tuned for the following AFR's:

14.8 Idle
15.2 High vacuum cruise
14.7 atmospheric acceleration (0 psi)
13.8-13.1 boost transition (spool - approx 5 psi
12.3 - 11.9 5 - 10 psi wot
11.7 - 11.4 wot to a max of 21 psi.
