EcuDataScan

I just recently installed a device called a ECUDataScan. It connects to your OB II port. It allows you real time monitoring and recording of numerous parameters which I have listed below. It also is a GPS (iGo8)
& Google Earth, Video& MP3 player, will let you read CELS and clear them. Excellent colour LCD screen, works with canbus protocol and good for MY99 wrx onwards. It also will measure and record your 60 ft times, 4oo, 1/8 and 1/4 mile times. You can run up to nine different parameters on each dashboard display at once and you can set the colors in any color you want and the same goes for measurements in metric, imperial, etc. It has a SD card slot and comes with a 2GB card which can then be used on your computer to give you data logs in MS Excel etc. Still coming to terms with it but first impressions are. Easy to set up and use. Touch screen functions are simple and easy. Wish I had not bought Defi gauges. I will add further feedback as i progress with its use. Wish I had this for the last dyno day.

bit of a noob question but where is the port you connect it to?

American Dave 07-09-2009 03:45 PM

OB II connection will be under your steering wheel and down I believe. Mine is down there but further to the right close to the fire wall.

smerm07 07-09-2009 03:50 PM

oh sweet. be interesting to see what you think of it. so its plug and play as such?

American Dave 07-09-2009 03:58 PM

Yes very much plug and play. Would have loved to see what my intake temps were during power runs at the last dyno day for example. With this device you can.

MY99 07-09-2009 04:19 PM

I wanted to ask when you were planning to make a thread about this Dave :)

I received my EcuDataScan the other day as well and I must say that it is an awesome device! Plug and play: very easy to use. The only thing i don't like about the it is that it's hard to keep your eyes off it while driving! I might have to start using that logging feature :D

GPS works great Dave - thanks for that!

smerm07 07-09-2009 04:27 PM

does it still work on verso?

MY99 07-09-2009 04:31 PM

Yep, both Dave and I have Verso tunes and it works perfectly.

American Dave 07-09-2009 04:32 PM

off course I does, it does not allow you to tune or change the parameters but rather lets you monitor and record them. My ecu has been flashed using verso previously.

blue.spec 07-09-2009 04:33 PM

canyou use it in conjunction with autronics?
