Purchasing an O2 Sensor

Now ive had talks with many different people, and just recently i heard in a thread that by fitting a aftermarket exhaust, could cause ur O2 sensor to go cactus. Now, ive had this problem since i had the car basically but was worse when i put my TBE,BoV on.

Start car-warm 1 minute with good 1500 idle
2 Minutes car idle drops and begin to drive slowly and carefully however any attempt to accelerate causes a slight surge
Eventually car is warm and it isnt bad but sometimes i still notice it a very minute bit.

I have heard that it is a stanard feature of the MY00 to stop thrashing of the engine when cold. I have dismissed this as a load of crap as some people have it, yet some people dont.

Now im wondering, where i can buy an O2 sensor from as ive been lead to believe by a fellow p-wrxer that it could be the case?

Thanks,

Eric

P.S. Checked other threads, couldnt find any places that mention where to buy em :/

repco, covs, Petroject, subaru. Just depends on prices and if you want one that plugs straight in or not. It could be your afm from the sounds of it very common with 99-00. Oh and aftermarket BOV probably won't be helping either

Umm the AFm i changed like 3 weeks ago roughly. It was doing it before the AFM, tried cleaning it, it stuffed up, bought a new one and so it has to be sumthing else. I am unsure as to why plumback BoV and Atmospheric BoV are so different? They both vent to stop the turbo from backspinning. One goes into the atmosphere, one is plumbed back. Can sumone explain to me (other then the "I dislike BoV's because its rice") why it would change it? Might make it a little more rich i spose.

Ok well thanks to another P-wrx member, i have nailed it down to the 02 sensor. Repco are out of stock aparently, Subaru isnt open on weekends. I have disconnected it for now, can anyone gimmie a clue as to if disconnecting the 02 sensor may make the car drive to lean or rich? WIll it do dmg driving without it connected?

Thanks,

Eric

Anyone? :( Just wanna know if im leaning out my engine by having my 02 disconnected.

Not sure what my guy did when the exhaust was fitted on my car, but pretty sure the O2 Sensor was completely removed, and a transistor was fitted where the wires go back to, to stop the CEL.

Worked a treat.

Mine doesnt even come up CEL when my 02 sensor is disconnected. She runs like a dream, never hesitates, nothing.

Im just waiting on monday to go to subaru but its a fair drive there. GOnna get an 02 sensor and a bottle of upper engine cleaner. Just want to make sure im not gonna weld my pistons to my block whilst trying to drive to the shop!
