What blew up at the Drags last Wednesday?
 

Heard it from my place it was that loud...what was it? Any pictures?

Nos caused an explosion in the intercooler piping... blew the front bumper off and cooked the intercooler and piping... bonnet scoop flew off also...

Hopefully Brad will have it all back together and ready to go soon... is an awesome car!! :D

hows that work...isn't purging supposed to prevent that? Any engine damage?

he didn't purge. need new throttle body.

Just turned ingition on and then she went.
car will be all fixed by this weekend

A work mate of mine blew his box up by warming his tyres last wednesday, he didnt even get his first run haha, its a piece a shit silvia. And i beat my mates TE50. Good night :)

How do you know nitrous had nothing to do with this? Seems a bit aggressive for just an air fuel mix. Were you able to salvage the bonnet? Thanks again to highoctanephotos.com for the photo..onya Phil!

bonnet has small marks on it from flexing

that does look too bad Brad... until you see the flame burning!!... :(

What Brad means (I think) is that the explosion wasn't caused by the NOS. Leaking Fuel sparked the bang, but obviously the NOS went up along with the fuel once it ignited..

Yep exactly Jimmy, but if there was no fuel present there would have been no bang is what I'm getting at in regards to Maddog's post..
