boost controller installing issues

installed a turbosmart dual stage, i get 1st stage boost hit the rocket switch and no 2nd stage it is identical to 1st. i have

------ power supply (cigg lighter)
------ earthed to rocket switch (ON)
coming off the OFF side of the switch i have earthed to the body.
Does this sound right guys?
is it possible my cigg power is not working? can someone suggest another power supply. (boost can be changed on 1st stage though)

if I had no power would i be able to change the boost ???

i don't know how those things are wired up never used one but i'd say you need the power. Do you have a test light to see if you are getting +ve power and have you got a good earth

no multimeter it has been stolen. earthed to the bolt behind the stereo will double check all again. perhaps i need another power source. will try.

Yes but only manually and then you would only have one boost setting.

not to sure about the Turbosmart set up but if it has a solenoid it should go something like this.

The first stage should be preset to whatever psi you require for normal driving conditions. Switch in the off position

When in the second stage position [ switch in on position] activates the solenoid to open, giving the second preset boost pressure, lets say 18-20psi or whatever pressure you want for a bit of get up and go!.

With the wiring there should be only one power source to active the solenoid
to open.
In the on position power goes in to the switch then out of the switch in to the solenoid, out of the solenoid to ground or earth to comlpete the circuit when the rocket switch is activated therefore giving you the second stage boost setting.

Hope that makes sense.

yep all fixed, switched power wires with earthing. solenoid turns on and off.,

got boost cut at 18psi.

tbe

panel filter
td04

should i make 17psi max for stage 2 until new ecu installed?

i wouldn't run that much with no tune

dan.r.s 06-04-2007 05:53 PM

yeah. i will run 16 for high stnd for low.

gets tuned soon just need to decide who to tune the brains..
