Hi-Flowing Injectors

Hey guys,

Anyone know who can/where can injectors be high-flowed or de-capped for a decent price.

would most workshops be able to do this ?

They are off a 04 wrx and apparently are 380cc. I understand if high flowed should then be 700 ?

I would attempt this but i have nfi what needs to be done, and dont feel comfortable playing around with injectors, can end up being a recipe for disaster.

Thanks

Just remember to test the injectors after high flowing them to make sure that they all flow the same amount with a good fine mist spray pattern.

Most of the good workshops should be able to perform or at least point you int he direction of a good injector specialist.

i doubt you'll find a workshop what will decap em for you.

yeah trying to toss up whether i should de-cap or get a decent second hand STi set.

looking at it from a value of money point of view STi = 550cc, but a decap is apparently 700cc -which may help with further mods, down the track.

But if i add cost to test them after not sure what itll work out as .

decap is 816cc when tested at the correct rail pressure.

This thread on Nasioc describes what to do to decap the injectors.

Once decapped, go to an injector testing place such as United Fuel Injection where they can flow test, sonic clean etc the injectors.

From the report, you can make sure they are all flowing correctly. If tested at the correct fuel rail pressure they should become 816cc injectors, as mentioned by Stace.

wats the reliabitly like after doing this? is there more of a chance that the injectors will fail?

decapped them myself and had them in my car for over 18 months.

there were plenty of non-beleivers at the time.

cant be sure, but i think i was one of the few or first in perth to give it a go.
