Please help ASAP - fitting fuel pump

I've just started fitting my Walbro 255lph fuel pump and of course it's a piece of piss. Only problem is I got the wrx fitting kit which comes with the wiring harness. The std wiring harness has like some kind of resister with it. Do I use the new harness or the old std one. Also what is the resistor (or whatever it is) for. Please help as I am at work using up their time!!!!!

Cheers
Scooter

use the new wiring harness one. AFAIK The walbro pump doesnt require that little black electrical thingamajiggy.

Thats what I did when I installed my walbro gss431. No problems since installation.
