Dog Box
Hey Guys,
I'm looking at getting another wrx. I have found one that I like over east, but it has a dog engagement helical cut gearbox. Would there be any issues getting it over pits? There are other modifications, but that is the only issue i can see at the moment... Cheers, James |

dog engagement gears are not illegal. And any external inspection wont be able to tell whether it has a dog box or not. Its only when you drive it that you find out.

Don't know if you have ever driven a dog box. If you haven't I suggest you try one before buying it.
If you like it you will love it but if you don't you will dread driving the thing.

Bastard to drive normally, smooth as butter when you're hammering the car.
Dog boxes are supposed to be pulled out and serviced every so often also i.e. dog rings replaced, or you'll get mis-shifts and gears popping out into neutral while you're driving along. |
