Going to slap in my new rotors tomorrow...

Ok, cool. I read around and it seems that 80 ft/lbs is the go, which is somewhere in the vicinity of 110nm. A lot of torque for the little buggers!

Anything else i should know? I remember you saying something about the direction of the slots when we were at Collie...

Huy...are you talking about the two bolts that attach the calipers to the hub?....if so make them TOIGHT!...no specific torque setting...

Now if you're talking about two piece rotors, then the bolts which hold the top hat to the rotor are torqued at about 10 or 12 ft/lb only....do NOT over tighten them.

Slot direction varies from brand to brand...with DBA the slots generally sweep backwards (from the centre out)...but there are some exceptions...DBA rotors are always marked L and R with a small adhesive sticker.

yeah i followed Steve and purposely reversed the directions rotors.. has good feel under heavy braking and i dont think it affects the wearing of pads any different. And 80 lbs is around 110nm so i was pretty much on the money

Nauli, yep, i meant the 2 bolts attaching the caliper to the hub assembly. Thanks for your help, i will do them toight. I bought the DBA5000 2 piece rotors and 4000s for the rear.

Muggzy, roof vent coming soon, mate. I hope you're on the money then, too, otherwise world first STi sunroof ftw!!!

Yeah, i wanted to, but i haven't really seen any results from the SCR Pro series (which is the top of the range) on STi's. They're more or less bling imo. As much i like bling, i had to go for function over form; just this once.
