Default Battery RE : Keypad Ignition

Ok guys and gals Ive just brought an 01 wrx with a upgraded alarm system. Motion sensors etc auto wind up windows etc.

My problem is its stopped chirping to let me know when I lock and unlock it.And now I can no longer get out and lock it while the turbo runs as before I used to be able to get out lock it and walk away. Now it wont let me as the alarm will sound Im guessing due to the motion sensors arming.

Any ideas ?

Or has what I said made no sense ?

I thought Id just disconnect the battery and it may reset itself but what will happen with the keypad ignition ? Will that just reset itself also ?

Any help would be appreciated

if its an aftermarket alarm, then you may need to find the control box to determine who the manufacturer is and then contact them for a copy of the user manual.

See if you can set the alarm off yourself. It may just be a dead siren.

The alarm still works it just doesnt chirp when locking and unlocking and Im guessing this has something to do with the reason it now wont let me arm it untill the car is turned off. Before I could set the alarm and walk away.

Not sure that still seems to work. Im not sure whats wrong.

What will happen to the keypad ignition if I disconnect the battery ? Will that just reset itself.Just someone told me that they wernt sure what would happen to the keypad ignition if I was to disconnect the battery. But Im sure it can be done as it wouild be the same if your battery died and you had to replace it
