That's why I ordered the wrong injectors.

There are some discrepencies in judgement between different owners and different forums.

I have been through this myself, and for reference, the ADM 06 STi has TOP FEED injectors.

That is assuming that these side feeds I have didn't fit for that reason (which is what i was told). I want to physically see the set-up and confirm this when I get the car back.

deleted, double post :(

Well i was also told that the (not sure if its the ADM or JDM) OEM injector setup on a MY06 was taken from the MY01-MY05 top feed style to the sidefeed like the GC8's. However, you cant always go on what people say on the forum i spose.
Does that mean they'll fit GC8's?
Nah Lyndon, to answer the question they are the same setup being sidefeed (which is in question at the moment) but i already looked down that path and was told they wont fit. Maybe if you switch the manifold and fuel rails (this is from what i can remember anyway :P so dont shoot me)

No, not without using the matching fuel rail which also requires adapting the bolt down point for each sides rail...it's different.

The injectors have larger diameter bodies than the GC8 ones, and the pipe work under the manifold is different enough to cause a problem adapting to a GC8 (all versions) manifold.

You could probably simplify this with adapting the bolt down and pattern and using each rail in a split system with braided lines.

Hurtenstein 10-10-2007 04:07 PM

Or just buy ones designed for the GC8 rails...

Bugger Vyper!!!!

I think the confusion may lie in the fact that there are different injectors for different markets. :( Especially USA vs Oz/Europe Asia.

I have personally unbolted injectors from an EJ257 STi's fuel rails with attached red STi inlet manifold and they were in fact the yellow side feeds as in the chart below. Looking at it now the engine may have been from an US EJ257 STi up at JWS or possibly a Jap EJ257 STi Forry.

Chart update time I think will help:

Side Feed Injectors:
MY94-98 380's
MY99-00 WRX and STi's 440's (Yellow)
MY06-07 STI 560's (Yellow) *** Suspect USA Only ***

Top Feed:
MY01-02 440's (Bluey Green)
MY02-05 STi 550's (Pink)
MY03-05 380's (Grey)
MY06-07 WRX/STi 550's (Blue) *** OZ Spec ***

:)

Yep, the side feeds I intended using were Jap EJ257 ones from the source you mention...nice to use if you can be bothered playing around.

Probably only marginally better than the 440 GC8 ones when you upgrade other parts of the fuel system.

Probably be less drama and not much more cost to source good after market injectors that directly fit.

Elrico 11-10-2007 03:38 PM

hence why i went to deatchwerks and got custom 650cc GC8 ones. :)
