Default Going back to stadnard ride height

ok my suspension knowledge is somewhat limited thus the below,

current setup on my gc8 is king spring super lows with koni adjustables. Its nice and low and handles awesome however its just too impracticle for me at that height, i scrape over speed bumps no matter how slow i go and also need the ability to tow a trailer every now and then. I would like to take it back to standard height, even higher maybe. I have the standard springs in the shed.

Now of course i want my cake and eat it too. Thus i would like standard ride height or higher but retain the handling. I know this isnt gona happen but would like to retain as much of the handling as possible.

Can i just fit the standard springs back in? Or will the koni's not have enough travel to accomodate them? So new shocks are needed. Also i assume the super lows are a stiffer spring than the standard ones so would lose some of the handling.
What are the options for giving it an extra inch or 2 lift and how bad would this affect the handling? Maybe just 17's rather than the current 16's, speedo will be affected i know.

I also have whiteline RSB and ALK fitted.

Go with a set of Whiteline Control springs...or even STi pinks.

Slightly lowered, and will make your car handle better than standard.

Hey dude, the Koni's in my old car are inserts, so they original struts were cut to insert them. You can go higher springs but don't go back to the stock ones!

Changing your wheel size won't solve any scraping issues, it will look better though

Have you considered having your exhaust redone so it sits a bit closer to the under side of your car instead of hanging down like a pair of tribal balls? If any other part of your scrapes then yea I'd say your car is too bloody low.

You also said you tow every now and again. How much weight are we talking, like a go-kart trailer, a boat, 6x4 with tree cuttings etc???

And whatever you do, stay away from Pedders. Their answer for everything is airbags.

@ ninjawrx - i already have the stock springs but when these come out i will put them up for sale.

@ miggidy - Hey Mate, so the stock springs wont fit or if i put them in the car will handle like a fukn boat? Also by higher do you mean height or higher spring tension than standard?

@phizzle - its low, damn low its great just a bit impractical for me. As for towing just a 6x4 of mulch and stuff like that.

so sounds like a replacement standard height spring from kings or whiteline then, anyone know if they do a higher spring say 1" higher? What about forester springs?

Whiteline do an intermediate spring slightly taller than the Superlows. These will give you what you want. Have you upgraded the sway bars yet because this will stop that boat feeling you mentioned? After that there are front struts, rear struts, rear lock down bolts, front four point lower brace and a plethora of bushes and other "stuff".

i was saying if i went back to standard springs it might handle like a boat, at hte moment it handles awesome, its jsut too low. I want standard ride height but with the same handling i havenow, i think the whiteline control spirngs are the go.
