Default rocker cover isses, please help all tech minded

just had the both rocker covers replaced and on the way home, noticed the tell tail smoke from the engine still... so pissed, anyways
its coming rom the drivers side and dripping onto the turbo up pipe...
if its not a kink in the gasket what else could it be, they replaced all the seals on the bolts etc
could it be a crack in one of the bolts or something else?
took them three days to change both sides and now it has to go back in again...
not a happy camper
please help

if its just been replaced, then its just oil residue left over from when the rocker cover was removed. Oil would have dripped down and sat on the exhaust manifold shield. It will take a few hours up to burn off out the remaining oil residue and the smell might hang around for a few more days.

Same thing happened to me after I did my rocker cover gasket. Even if you wipe all of it off and degrease it, there will usually be a small amount of smoke, but not for long.

cars back at subaru for the week.leak is coming from the back drivers side next to the up pipe., could it be perrishing the gasket shortly after being put in or is it just crap mechanics? i think its the mechanics. all covered under used car warranty. lucky i'm out at work for the week...

Isn't there another cover plate on that head in front of the up-pipe? That could be leaking. Or maybe the crush washer for the banjo bolt oil feed to the turbo.

na i thinks its the rocker cover. tiny pieces of the new one were hanging out when i felt it yesterday. the manager is onto it tho cause its such an issue and he is going to take it home after they fix it for a few days to make sure that it's not leaking. lucky i only left a quarter of a tank in it so they will have to put some in it before i get it back lol
