What mods for my power goals
I have an january 03 wrx currently with a verso tune and 220hp at the wheels.
Looking for some more power my end goal is 350hp at the wheels. What direct bolt on turbo will have enough puff for this. I thought a TD06 20g would be up for the job? but i get told different things. Any one care to let me know what turbos i can choose from. Budgeted around $1600 for the turbo. Also will a process west TMIC kit be able to support this power goal? |

Fark 350hp how much are you willing to spend? Your going to need lots. Buy an STi.
|
youll need to upgrade a fair bit. not just the turbo.
|
Yeah i understand i will need alot more done than just the turbo.
My end goal is 350rwhp i will end up spending alot more. ATM i want more power so i want to buy a turbo that will supply enough for the final figure. Is 350rwhp enough to run 12seconds flat? |
sti
tdo6-20g fmic gate dump headers injectors intake boost solenoid clutch ecu |
Cant we keep the TMIC? instead of goin for the FMIC?
|
more boost and airflow with a turbo that size, a fmic will only yield better results, plus if its angle mount, there will be no room for the tmic.
you're going to need supporting mods. |

Yep, so long as you're running a CIG locked centre diff and no front shafts. |

depends, off hand Tuna's car did 11.9 with 330, prototype did 11.7 with 320. depends on how savage a driver you are! |
I'm aiming for around 11.6 with 350.
|
Buy WAI's car when and if he is ever finished....... :)

Dunno Matt, if you're getting 350 just at the rears the all four figure should be a bit higher with a 4kg centre. |
11.8 thanks :)
|
Upgrade to an sti.
|
to get that power, safely i think an sti is a better car to start with...just a bit stronger to hold high boost levels...
|
this is and end figure.
I have no problems building a forged engine and getting a 6 speed box I just want to buy the right turbo so im not wasting money |
Just out of interest..
Have you considered an application for your car? Drag car? Track car? |
mates car?
oh, wrong thread, sorry. /me goes to find tj |
Mmmm if you are looking for good power figures i think the 20g is a good choice. Maybe even one of those GT35's. Fairly good figures from those i think.
|
Mainly drags. And also a daily driver.
The wife would be happy with a 12 second car. Im used to bigger cars and bigger engines so I have no idea wat power levels are required |

Cause he said rwhp haha at least I got it. |
Took a while....prize goes to phizzle in the front row :)

HKS GT3037 Pro...
you will need the gearbox and the built motor but it will reliably do what you want it to do....Flat 12's plus daily driver.. |
the rex "generally" is no great drag car.... With a standard rex and those times you are seeking you may need to add a new gearbox to your list as the standard rex box will have a good chance of crapping itself with the hard launches you will need for a 12flat
Good luck! |
If you want flat 12's that are easily obtainable, get an R32GTR
