Default GT2835 owners

For those lucky few who have a 2835 on hand, i have a few questions.

Seeing as they are twin entry would it be adviseable to go with a twin scroll header system?

Is there a up pipe that can convert a normal manifold to twin entry?

Is the dump pipe flange as per twin scroll vf series or old skool VF series?

IF a complete twinscroll conversion is NEEDED, where's the best place to source aftermarket bits and what do i need.

thanks

Jme

Jme, would definitely be worth getting a twin scroll header and up-pipe...even though its not twin scroll, IMHO it would improve spool because of the optimised exhaust pulses going into the turbo.

Heaps of guys with Mazda rotaries use twin entry turbos, and feed one exhaust runner from each rotor, into each entry of the turbo. It works well.

For a twin scroll conversion, you need the twin scroll sump and dipstick, plus headers and up-pipe. I reckon a Subaru header and a custom up-pipe to suit the HKS turbo would be a good option.

Got any pics of the turbo?

Here is a thread on NASIOC re: the HKS GT2835. They claim its a twin scroll, but some say they are twin entry.

Jamie, if you don't wanna go thru the troubles of doing a twinscroll conversion do HKS sell the GT2835 as a bolt on option for single scroll Subaru's but they have a lower HP rating as the single scroll exhaust hosuing is slightly smaller.

Twin scroll conversion requires you to change the sump, turbo mount, extractors, & dump.

It would have to be a custom job if wanted a up pipe to go from single to twin scroll, but with a twinscroll turbo you still have to change the turbo mount and dump (flanges are not the same). I see no point buying the twin scroll turbo if your not going to take advantage of equal length headers etc, you would be better off just buying single scroll version which would be a direct bolt on for a WRX/STi.

Yeah noticed on the other thread most of the bits we're sourced from japanparts.com, i already have a dump on the way, will just have the flange changed to suit the turbine housing and go the twinscroll conversion. No point doing it in halves.

JME

I'm 99.9% sure you already have the Correct sump and Dipstick on the Libbo EJ257 engine for the twin scroll headers.
