Another 207 Thread...

Ok here is the plan, constructive criticism team - assemble!

MY99 WRX Not too far off needing an overhaul, here is what I am looking at buying:

- EJ207 Short Block
- V5/6 STi Intake Manifold

Planning on having my heads re-conditioned and using those, and the gear thats currently on the car that I might keep:

- Autronic SM2
- VF28(29?)
- Bosch fuel pump (440? Not too sure.. Been there for about 60,000km)
- MY99 WRX Standard injectors
- MY99 WRX 5 speed (brand new gearset 20,000km ago)

Intending on a safe daily driving tune, with a little bite (200ish kw) and aiming for response over big lag and late blooming power figures, how is it looking?

Mmmm not sure about the turbo, but injectors are fine i think. 440's will do the job but may be pushing them to their limits. Safe tune for what you have? I spose every tune is normally safe unless your running 2 bar on a 205 constantly.

All i know is PowerFC+Vf34+650cc's+bosch 910+FMIC nets me about 200kw atw with room to go further.

And i think your TMIC might restrict you, find out from Wrexx but i believe thats what happened to him.

If there's enough fuel in it, which i believe the 440's and pump you have will suffice.
Run two boost setting, 1bar and 1.4bar, with a thorough tune the 207 will take it all day everyday and be very liveable.

injectors are well upto to that get a fuel pressure regulator if you need to but 440s are good for 400bhp :) :)

Sweet.

And FYI Running a FMIC, so yeah. Main concern was turbo (suggestions please!) and if the injectors and oldish fuel pump would a safe bet for the 200kw daily driving target.

Yeppers on the dual boost setting, currently using the 1.0 and 1.4bar :D

I would rather spend the money and do it right from the beginning and have something safe and more than capable of my goals.

maybe an anti liftkit might be on the cards aswel mines starting to smoke wheels, spray like a FWD and i THINK it chirped 2nd the other day.

have you got any safety devices ie knocklink lambda link afr gauge etc etc??

Doubtful. Tell me more.

As much as i like gauges to tell you stuff.. (dont get me wrong i've got some defi's)

Don't you think that once the event's happened its too late?

If i had my time again, i'd probably save the dollars and go without gauges. Cause you can;t be looking at your boost gague all the time and once its sitting on say 3 bar... not much you could do either.. 3 bar... 2 seconds.. bang..

Same with knock monitors... by the time its rattled up... well its rattled up.. not much you can do about it..

That said, they do make for pretty lights and all :)

*sits on fence*

I am quite anti the whole "look how cool I am with 30 billion gauges" trend. One tastefully/subtly place boost gauge and my factory tacho is pretty much sufficient. Fuel gauge is ok too...

That said, is there anything that is worth having and won't detract from the tasteful interior scheme?
