Bov's Need to know a few things
 

I have searched and the i cant find the answers for the questions i want. So here it goes

I have an understanding that a negative of having a bov is bad fuel economy and un wanted attention

But i want to know what are some of the other problems or issues with having a vented/plumbed back bov on my GC8

I want a plumbed back on mine but i want to know if it will stuff anything up on my engine and would running a vented bov would make my car have engine troubles or anything like that

any help woudl be appreciated

There is no use in fitting an aftermarket plumb back BOV.

Keep your stocker, it will work better and will do exactly the same thing.

Vented BOV could possibly make your car run like poo if you're on the stock ECU.

Hmmmm ok then, but it wont hurt the engine in anyway, is it ok to run an aftermarket plumb back, and what would i use to plumb up the standard bov return pipes ? just a rubber stopper

Yes its fine to run an aftermarket plumb back, but it'll be an unnecessary expense...your stock BOV is plumb back and it works fine!!!!!!!

You can't block the return pipe, you'll need it for the plumb back

But if i was to run atomo i would need to goto bunnings and buy some stoppers and put them in, yes ?

I definitely [B]would not [/B] recommend a BOV that fully vents to atmosphere with the stock GC8 ECU - you'll unbalance the air fuel ratio and create backfiring and possibly other problems further down the line. Many people still run full atmo BOVs on stock ECUs. Maybe it depends on the BOV and other factors but from personal experience - only causes problems (backfire, engine lost smoothness, poor fuel economy)

if you understand why are you asking such idiotic questions?

if you want that homo noise buy a hybrid BOV as MY99 recommended where it vents to both (Intake/Atmo)

You can buy an adjustable one which gives you the option of controlling how much of the pressure you would like vented to atmo.

If you are not going to invest in a hybrid spend your money else where!

Idiotic questions ????, im asking because i want to know and you guys would know what your talking about concidering you own one and would have gone threw the same process, so why not ask?, is it a problem to you ?
