Help needed - Anti Lag Solonoid

Hey everyone,

I'm currently having major issues in regards to sourcing a kicker solonoid to open the throttle on my MY05 WRX. I have been told to search for a "air con idle up solonoid from a VB/VC commodore", however, as this part was made obselete in roughly 1992, I'm having huge difficulties finding a solonoid so I can use the anti lag....

Has anyone else used a different solonoid or alternatively, does anyone know where I can source one from!???

Any help greatly appreciated!

P.S ECU is a Motec M800 PnP.

I also never found it :( probably link ecu with antilag comes with black solenoid to open the throttle but not sure if these can work with motec.

ask psi if he has it

drive by wire throttle & motec if you want to do it properly :)

The Link anti lag solenoid does work with the MoTeC. However it is the same solenoid.... i.e The VB/VC Commodore air con idle up solenoid.

I have tried the following workshops with no success....

- MMS
- PSI
- West Racing

I have a few other workshops looking but it isnt looking promising :(

Can't you have the ECU use the factory fitted one?
Autronic ECU's use the factory stepper motor can't see why the MoTeC can't.

Factory solenoid apparently doesnt let enough air through.

it's very hard to find those, been loking for them since forever, aj from speedoworks sorted out for my cousin sti but too bad he didn't take them and aj took it to spore :(

It'll let enough air thru for what you want....try it out first.......then look into the kicker.

If Link solenoid does work with the motec, try Rms i used to have link with anti lag installed by them, see if you can buy the solenoid separately

anything will work with the motec if you wire it up correctly.

as jme said, try the idle controller first, if you still have problems, try the alternatives.
