EBC profec

When installing a profec B II should the stock boost solenoid be connected at all ??? Should there be any piping still running into it ??

if any1 could send me a pic of the underbonnet setup of a electronic boost controller, preferably a profec B II that would be awsome i just wanna compare it to my set up as it isnt working properly ...

you leave the stock boost solenoid connect to the wiring but not the vacuum tubes. You need to leave it connected so the ECU doesnt throw a CEL code.
Otherwise you can try soldering in a resistor with the same rating as the solenoid. Pain in the ass when just leaving it connected works just fine

use the provided boost solenoid with the EBC kit for your vacuum tubes

hmm, i got it installed @ j-shop and its not boosting past 6 pound, its like limp moding itself. Now all the gains and boost is set rite but the guy said ' the stock solenoid ' is taking over somehow ...

the vaccum line still runs into the stock solenoid. He fabricated a vaccum line to the profec B from the turbo instead of just taking the one off the solenoid and lengthening it ... ?

Any idea's ???

Does a my99 need a ECU update to install a profec B ?? :-S

no it doesnt. make sure that the vacuum hoses are routed properly.

no matter what, you should be able to dial in what ever psi.

also make sure you still have the brass olive still in the vacuum line.

I dont think it has the olive in anymore. .. i think they took it out ? the olive is situated just of the actuator wasnt it ??

chee 24-02-2008 12:32 PM

yes. you NEED that.

disc0-dan 24-02-2008 12:50 PM

can u fabricate a olive up for the line ??? and if it doesnt have one what will the symptoms be ??

and if i cant get my olive back, where can i get one from, and would i just push it into the hose ???

Why would you need the olive in an aftermarket boost controller's lines?
