Heat wrapping a cat (not the meow kind)
Hey guys i just got a nice 3" metal cat put into my APS cat delete pipe.
What temperatures can a cat produce at maximum, and how much would the heat wrap be able to cope with? Is it a good idea to heat wrap a cat? Thx, Chris. |

The cat is in the dump, my bad. |
do the entire lot

why put a cat there? you want to dump to flow best as possible, plus cats have a better efficiency further down the pipe in the correct temp range.
it'll probably get too hot right where it is. |

I think you guys have missed the topic a little here.

Ceramic coat the whole dump and cat.
Cats are designed to get really hot 600 degress + |
Well the wrap is on, just thought id post the results up.
The wrap is COOL IT's Thermo-Tec 2" wide wrap, i used a 15ft roll to do the cat pipe. The wrap can withstand temp's upto 1095 degree's celcius so im sure it's going to do the job. |
