Default fuel pressure line

just got a call from ASG and they told me my fuel pressure line\regulator was disconected or something.

what kind of engine damage could i be expecting from about 20 000 ks of driving

Car seems to be running fine, and i probably wouldnt have noticed that until they told me

I think he means the vacuum line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator. It allows the pressure regulator to increase fuel pressure with boost increases.

You may have been running slightly leaner than usual but if its running okay now then you probably have nothing to worry about. If your not sure, ask for a compression test and do a dyno run to check your AFRs.

Thanks mate for the advice, i think after the compression test i'd flush out the oil. They said the oil after 2500 ks was almost empty as a result of the Fuel presure regulator.

Was pretty worried about it when i first heard, now i know what i have to do

How much have you thrashed the car?

Engines can run VERY lean without that line attached to the fuel pressure reg.

Compression tests only cost about $80 if you have a Top mount intercooler. FMIC costs a little more, and yes FPR off is bahhhdd lol. By the sounds of it, your car needs a little more TLC in other areas aswel :P

well got my car back, its running fine no problems at all, prehaps i was just lucky. But if there was a problem would i knwo about it straight away, or is it just time.

It was seemingly running fine before, would not have noticed till ASG told me. But as i can recall i think thats only been off for 10 000 ks. For that time i have not done any high gear thrashing, only pushing 1st and 2nd gear 6 000 rpm. So chances are i got away with it

actually i just came back from abit of hooning, and the engine running fine, nice and smooth delivery of power.

I really dont think 10 000ks of mostly normal every day driving and having the oil changed every 3000ks or so could do any real damage that would put it at risk of detonation. A wear and tear different story though
