Vibration

Out of interest, i'm not sure if its because i've been using the car more lately, but i've noticed a pretty good vibration from the car recently.

this could be due to the Sti engine/transmission mounts and bushing on the car which is resulting in a little bit less dampening

sometimes, the vibration feels like its coming from the centre. its not the clutch, but it does feel like its coming from there. comes on and off. i'm curious to know if anyone do encounter this. as mention, i dont use the car much but only lately i have been clocking up more Ks.

does it interfere with the handling or drivability.obviously the vibration woulb be annoying but is it worse at certain times, taking off, corners or acceleration?

nope, not that i can notice

i think i'm being paranoid
just sounds and feels like there's some abnormal vibration
gearbox is still pretty new, same with clutch, although it should be bedded in by now. its not the clutch, i'm pretty confident of that. i dont launch it.

where are you stace!!

yep, that's stace

shouldn't be anything serious, considering the box is still relatively new
i'll give it a a few more days of driving and see
might be paranoia

*whispers* Joe, the vibrator will run out of battery soon enough...

tail shaft weight fallen off,

wheel weight fallen off,

pitch mount loose

cv joint bent

tailshaft centre bearing flogged out

i guess without hearing or feeling the vibration, i'm only guessing

pmh 26-10-2005 08:40 AM

i'll be checking out the noise/vibration again
its fine this morning

think the MC training will be a good way of finding out for sure
if its serious, it will break!

im in the same boat at the moment.

coming from the RHF wheel.

It increases with speed.

I'm guessing it may be the wheel bearing, since I've replaced basically everything else. How can i figure out if its the wheel bearing or not?

What i've recently had one:

Changed struts to konis (not new)
Replaced ball joint to non-oem replacement (i have roll centre kit ready to go in anyways)
Pulled out drive shaft to replace cv boots (cv boots replaced by driveshaft place, no cv joint clicking when i had the shaft in)
New 4pots + pads + rotors.
New tyres and wheels
And an alignment at a decent suspension shop

chee 19-07-2008 06:06 PM

jEstEr? 20-07-2008 06:03 PM
