Wheel Spacers
 

Hey All

I was just thinking about this and wanted to see if anyone else has done it.

I would only be lloking at 5-10mm and suppose with the extra length bolts they provide that it should be fine

Any thoughts?

Im using 25mm bolt on spacers and no problems at all. 'TC Sportline' Ebay spec ones. They were something like AUD$280-$300 delivered to my door. I would have went for the H&R ones but they are hard to get hold of ..

The car has been chucked around with no problems. Only thing was i had to get my rear guards rolled (Lowered on STi performance springs and 225/45 17s) as they would rub the tyre around corners and with people at the back.

I was iffy about getting them at first but i needed my guards to be filled! No dramas and they have been on my car for about 2-3 months now, driven everyday.

Do you think there would be more side - effects in the long run?

well ide say its weaker than running no spacer but how much weaker? I reckon if something was to happen with mine, it would have happened already.

true and 25mm is up there considering im only attempting 5-10mm

Anyone else!! I have heard funny stories how wheels have fallen off but i guess with the right setup it should be safe

yeah true, 25mm and ebay spec haha.

Never heard any stories about them failing but the possibility is definitely there. When thinking about it, it seems kinda 'scary' to run with them on but when u bolt them up, actually looking at how they go together seems really secure. with the 25mm ones, the stock studs and the bolts that hold the spacer on sits flush and the spacer doesnt look like its going anywhere. The thing ill be most concerned about are the spacer studs snapping, but i was reassured by an engineering-studying buddy that the chances of that happening is very low and almost the same possibility of the stock studs snapping. But then again, it comes down to build quality etc.

From my own experience, car being thrown around corners here and there with various loads in the car. Havnt had any funny noises or wheel related issues so far ..

do you guys have before and after pics of fitting these?

i dont as im still trying to find out info about them but the way i imaging it looking is:

look at your rim now sitting on the hub. add the spacer in between (pic on the above web link)and thats how it would look. I think you would be able to see it when staionary. It would push the wheel out to sit just within the guard. So looks wise its legit but saftey and wear and tear wise???

pretty sure they are illegal too

^ Yeah i think they are, but so are many other things we do to our cars.
